Verdict

The engine’s per-company call band - STRONG BUY, ACCUMULATE, HOLD, TRIM or AVOID - derived from the conviction score and recorded nightly.

What it means

The verdict is the plain-language band the engine assigns each company every night: STRONG BUY, ACCUMULATE, HOLD, TRIM or AVOID, cut from the 0-100 conviction score (STRONG BUY starts at 65). A verdict is only actionable when the name is public and carries a fresh stored close; everything else is a structural read, never a trade call. Verdicts resist noise deliberately: a band change needs either a large score move (≥12 points) or the new reading persisting into a second day, so one headline cannot flip a name back and forth. Each night’s verdict is written to the record and graded later against what prices actually did.

Why it matters to investors

The verdict compresses the whole engine into one recorded, gradeable word. Because every verdict is time-stamped and immutable, you can check the cohort evidence - how STRONG BUY names actually moved versus AVOID names - instead of taking the label on faith.
