Hailo Technologies — AI supply-chain exposure

Hailo is an Israeli fabless chipmaker built for edge AI — inference that runs on the device rather than in a data center. Its Hailo-8 and Hailo-10 accelerators execute deep-learning and, increasingly, generative-AI workloads inside cameras, industrial gear and automotive systems, where power and latency budgets are tight. It sits at the ASIC layer, designing purpose-built inference silicon and leaving fabrication to a foundry.

The structural hook is the split between training and inference. The headline compute build-out lives in the data center, but a large and growing share of AI has to happen locally — for privacy, cost, or connectivity reasons — and that is a different chip problem, optimised for efficiency rather than raw scale. Hailo's exposure is to that edge-inference market: less about frontier-model training, more about embedding capable AI into the long tail of devices that cannot phone home.
