Kanto Denka Kogyo is a Japanese specialty-gas maker that supplies fabs with the reactive chemistries their processes depend on. It is one of very few global producers of NF3, the gas used to clean deposition chambers between wafers, and WF6, the tungsten precursor that lays down conductive material inside memory and logic chips. These are consumables — a fab burns through them continuously — so a steady, qualified supply is a precondition for running the line at all.

The structural hook is the smallness of the supplier club. High-purity NF3 and WF6 are hazardous to make and slow to qualify, so production sits with a handful of specialists and cannot be spun up quickly. That gives Kanto Denka quiet leverage over throughput: if chamber-cleaning or tungsten-deposition gas tightens, fabs slow regardless of how much equipment they own. The model weights it modestly because it supplies one input class, but that input is non-negotiable.
