Powertech Technology (PTI) is a Taiwanese OSAT specialised in memory — packaging and testing DRAM and other memory devices rather than logic. It sits in the chip chain's back end, the step that turns bare memory dies into finished, verified parts, and it is increasingly pulled into work adjacent to high-bandwidth memory as that market strains for capacity.

Its structural hook is exactly that memory focus. Memory has been the tightest link in AI for a sustained stretch, and the specialised back-end capacity to package and test it — especially the stacked, high-bandwidth kind feeding accelerators — is scarce and hard to stand up quickly.
